Since some time we have been watching the government take some strict measures to punish the illegal driver and vehicles on the streets. Now, in between this ongoing tussle the transport ministry has proposed another change under which fuel stations won’t be providing you the fuel if you don’t have proper documents! So, let’s have a look at the new traffic laws.
Recently, Maharashtra state transport minister Pratap Sarnaik has said that motorists without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will not be allowed to fuel up at petrol pumps. Moreover, the department is also looking to introduce a QR code-based PUC document, which will prevent the usage of fake certificates.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik in a media statement said that “Any vehicle owner visiting the petrol pump will have his/her PUC certificate scanned for genuineness before getting the fuel. A proper mechanism for this will be planned and implemented soon.” “Moreover, as PUC will be needed to fuel up, many motorists might obtain it illegally, so the government has planned to introduce QR code based PUC certificates, which will allow ease of verification and distinguish between genuine and fake certificates”, he added.
